We are not given more than we can handle...

Our New Home

Hello All,
It has been awhile since we have updated our blog and can I tell you that life has been interesting! Jase is now two and boy oh boy is he a handful! He has more energy than any one person should be given and to say that he is feisty is a gross understatement. With all of this though we still find great joy in his vision of how the world works, he is truly the apple of our eye!
As many of may or may not know, I began having contractions on the same exact day that I went into labor with Jase in that pregnancy, luckily this time they were able to slow down my contractions and send me home, still pregnant! I have been off of work and on home rest for just over 3 weeks now, it seems like an eternity! It is times like these when you realize how much you miss working and the people that you work with, I am so blessed to have a great job and also great co-workers who I prefer to refer to as friends rather than co-workers. I am on medication as well to slow my contractions down and so far it has done the job. Each week I go for an ultrasound and a non stress test to make sure that our little angel is handling that contractions that I am having and is not becoming stressed, so far she has done beautifully, we are just praying for at least 3 more weeks!
The biggest news that we have is that we SOLD our house! We still have to close so I suppose the deal could still fall through but as of now we are set to close on August 25th, only 1 week from now. I have also posted a picture of our new home, it is located in New Lenox and we are set to close on that house on August 29th, so in the interim we will be staying with my parent's.
Life has been such a whirlwind these last few weeks and with each passing day we are so thankful that life is presenting itself as it is, we couldn't be more blessed!
With Love,
The Salin Family

Summer Fun

So I meant to write this blog on Tuesday but it seems like the days have just gotten away from me. ..

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, my sister was in from Las Vegas and Ryan, Jase and I enjoyed some much treasured family time together. I took Jase to Navy Pier for the first time with my sister and Natalie (my "other" sister), although it was FREEZING, we had a great time! We topped the night off with dinner in Greek Town with Ryan and some other friends and family. On Sunday we took Jase to his first SOX game, he loved it! The best part of the game was that they won with a walk off homer, it doesn't get much better than that! My sister's visits are never long enough and it is always sad to see her go "home", but we look forward to her return soon.

As far as the house goes, the showings have picked up as the weather has gotten nicer but still no sale, the market stinks as we all know. We are going to look at houses this weekend in the New Lenox area, so wish us luck on selling and buying!

Baby Salin is now 23 weeks gestation, technically viable, yet we are still praying very hard that baby keeps on cooking until our scheduled c-section.

Well we are off to the park, we will post again soon!

Dreams and Reflections

Hello all, it looks like spring may finally be arriving, the Birds are chirping right outside of my window! I just want to wish all of you moms a Happy Mother's Day.

Ryan is settling into his new job, he likes it a lot even though the hours can sometimes be draining. I on the other hand am enjoying every minute that I have at home with Jase, he is growing everyday, talking a ton and continuously amazing us as he has since he was born! I know that every mom thinks that their child is the cutest and smartest and I am no exception, Jase is simply exceptional and I am sure that our new bundle of joy will be just as so! Speaking of the new baby, we are officially halfway there, we are praying hard to make it to our scheduled c-section which will be right around 39 weeks! The baby seems to be growing well and loves to bounce off the walls of mommy's uterus constantly!

Lately I have been thinking about how lucky I am to be a mommy and what a privilege it is to be blessed with such an innocent life. As many of you know last month we had a couple of losses, a cousin of mine and Ryan's great-grandmother, with this we try our best to understand the circle of life, yet sometimes it is so hard to understand, especially when some circles are so much smaller than others. Each time though we have tried to learn and appreciate all that we have been given, my cousin's death has especially reminded us once again as it did after Ryan's sister passed away how truly precious life is, each minute is special!

Our first blog...

This is the Salin family's first blog post, we will be using this as a way to keep our family and friends informed on our exciting lives. As most of you know we will be expecting a new little baby to love in September, God willing, this baby won't be born early like Jase was. We also have our townhome on the market, we are hoping to sell it before baby Salin is born but we understand the market these days so if we don't we will remain happily in our cozy home! Keep an eye out for new posts!
